    Top 4 Fall Weekend Getaways

    November 30, 2018

Living in apartments in Canoga Park is so wonderful for many of us in luxury situations that our life might seem like a vacation. But at the same time, staying in the same place day after day, night after night, and year after year can get boring, dull, and often stifling. We need a change of pace from time to time to keep ourselves interested, excited, and ultimately happy.

Guess what? Getting away for the weekend in Northridge, CA is definitely going to be right up your alley if you’re looking for a change of pace. You definitely want to mix things up, get back out into nature during the gorgeous fall weather, and do some fun and interesting things with the people you love the most.

Life is very busy and grueling for many of us. We spend hours of our day in the office, picking up the kids from school, making dinner, cleaning the house, entertaining clients and guests, and ultimately filling our schedules with so many activities that it’s hard to keep up with everything.

You need a break from this life every so often. You need a change of pace. By trying some of the fall vacation getaways from Northridge Los Angeles that we’re about to share with you, you’ll experience something new, different, and better that will shake up your life, help you relax, and make your world a better place.

If you’re looking to get away from Northridge for an adventure filled weekend, we highly recommend checking out any or all of our recommendations below.

    1. Skypark at Santa’s Village in Lake Arrowhead

Even though Halloween is just a day away, it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas and the exciting holidays that are right around the corner. We all love getting presents every year no matter what our religious or personal background happens to be, and if you celebrate Christmas it’s always fun to go to Lake Arrowhead to spend some time in Santa’s Village over the weekends during the fall.

It’s such a great place to visit because you get to see the beautiful snowy mountaintops on your way to the park. And they’ve really outdone themselves lately because the park itself has received a major makeover. The attractions have been updated and now there is an ice skating rink, a Strider balance bike trail, a rock climbing wall, and the Polar Express train.

The kids are going to absolutely fall head over heels in love with this place because of Santa Claus, the elves, and all of the wonderful holiday themed excitement. You can even visit Santa Claus at his house in the North Pole and this will make the upcoming Christmas season extra special for everyone involved.

    2. Fillmore & Western Railway Pumpkinliner

The fall wouldn’t be complete without pumpkins and lots of them. Let’s put Christmas aside for the moment and think about taking a trip on the Pumpkinliner, which is an exciting train that will take you on a vintage ride to a beautiful pumpkin patch for everyone to enjoy.

The cool thing about this train ride is families can hop on board, visit the pumpkin patch, and have lots of fun on the carousel, the pumpkin maze, the hayrides, and the Jolly Jumper, which is one of their most fun attractions. They also have barbecue food and it’s relatively inexpensive to enjoy this wonderful event.

Adults have to pay $22, children between the ages of four and 12 pay $15, and children between the ages of two and three pay $10. Anyone younger gets to ride the train and walk through the pumpkin patch for free.

This is a very busy attraction so we highly recommend getting a reservation. Fillmore, CA is right around the corner and this is a fun trip that your whole family will love so do not hesitate to schedule it sooner rather than later.

    3. Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino

Some of us might prefer to spend more time away from the beach and swimming pool once the fall arrives and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that either. In fact, a great place to visit for the weekend is the Huntington Library and Gardens located in San Marino.

This garden isn’t very big on secrets and it’s great for the kids. It’s a lot of fun and it’s situated on 207 acres of land, which makes it a beautiful public Botanical Gardens and library. It’s not only educational, it’s also a whole lot of fun and kids are going to love it here. So you get to enjoy the beautiful outdoors with your family and friends and still have a wonderful time.

    4. Visit the San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Kids, teens, and adults always have a great time at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and you might be interested in paying it a visit this year. It’s made up of the Caravan Safari, the Cheetah Safari, the Cart Safari, the Jungle Ropes Safari, the Flightline Safari, the Ultimate Safari, and so many other great options.

In October, kids are allowed to enter into the park for free, so it’s a great way for parents to save money as well if they’re looking for a fun place to go with their family. The lemurs take center stage in the spotlight for the time being and all of the amazing animals are looking forward to seeing you, your family members, and your friends in the near future.
